How to Throw a Legit Halloween Party

With Halloween quickly approaching, many people are planning big parties that are sure to be tons of fun. Here are Quibbler’s favorite tips to throw a legit Halloween party.  Don’t forget to send us an invite!

  1. Set the proper vibes! Layoff all the cleaning charms a few days before to have a nice dusty, old-fashioned haunted house vibe. Make sure you turn off all lights and have a few Jack-O’-Lanterns peeking out at random places, maybe some floating ones as well (via the Hover Charm). For a nice little touch, drop the temperature in your house by a few degrees with an Atmospheric Charm to really give your guests the chills.
  2. Include small, dark details! Whether it’s a copy of Moste Potente Potions or Sonnets of a Sorcerer to a Hand of Glory, be sure to have many small details that your guests will remember. However, you may not sue Quibbler if you take this a little too far and the Ministry is on you. (Psst remember you can always do it the Muggle way and make an ordinary object look like a dark object!) Maybe even convince your portraits to participate, having them dress up as Herpo the Foul, Gellert Grindelwald, Emeric the Evil, and maybe even Voldemort (from almost two decades ago)!
  3. Plan some light-hearted fun! Sneak some Amortentia into your friend’s Pumpkin Juice or dare your friend to eat a nice Dirty Sock flavored Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Bean! Maybe even enchant some Muggle plastic spiders to crawl all over the place… including in people’s handbags… Perhaps you can convince Peeves the Poltergeist to come along! You’ll be in for some fun for sure.
  4. And, of course, Food!! Sweets like Pumpkin Pasties, Cauldron Cakes, Chocolate Frogs, Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans, Jelly Slugs, Chocolate Wands, Acid Pops, Treacle Fudge, Sugar Quills, Toffee, Toothflossing Stringmints, Pepper Imps, Peppermint Toads, and Exploding bonbons are perfect, maybe some Muggle ones too like M&M’s, KitKats, Sour Patch Kids, and Nerds. Maybe have some healthier foods as well like fish and chips, fruit salad, and baked potatoes. Obviously, you’ll need to have drinks as well like Pumpkin Juice, Butterbeer, Gillywater, Exploding Lemonade, tea, water, and soda (a popular drink among Muggle that fizzes). (Make sure you place the Refilling Charm on all you beverages so they don’t run out!)

Now that you have all you need to have a wonderfully fun Halloween party, just send out invitations and you’re all set!
