Quidditch Season Is About To Start

RETRACTION: The Quibbler would like to apologize for our wretched mistake.  During the reporting of this piece, there was a language barrier (and a bit too much of the Quibbler’s imported gigglewater) with our Scandinavian reporters that fed us false information.  Being us, we felt it of great importance to correct ourselves and inform our readers.  No need to worry any longer!  To prevent any further reporting errors, the editors sat down and drank all the gigglewater!!

On the 19th of October, the Falmouth Falcons kick off the Quidditch Season against the Holyhead Harpies. With this game, the start of the 2017-2018 BQL is official. A lot of things have happened during the off-season. For instance, Puddlemere fired their head coach after a dramatic season last year, and the team captain for the Holyhead Harpies retired after her 32-year long career.

What’s new?

With the retirement of Cathy Quinn, the Holyhead Harpies had a gap to fill their roster. They did so by acquiring Steffie Lowe as their new Keeper. Lowe recently graduated Durmstrang where she held the record for least goals against her, totaling only 25 goals over the season. The Holyhead Harpies appointed Raylee Sosa as the new team captain. Being in her 9th season for the Harpies, the management thought it was time for her to step into the role of captain.

Both the Appleby Arrows and the Montrose Magpies changed their coach after last years horror season. Having both ended at the bottom of the league, they felt it was time for a change. The Arrows appointed Blake Hunt as the new coach for the team, while the Magpies went with Jude Perry. Both of the coaches have come over from the German Quidditch League.
